15 years ago, CrossFit Chesapeake (CFC) was established.

15 years ago, I had no idea what CrossFit was, where any CrossFit gym was, or who owned or what CFC was.

I hadn’t even heard of CFC until the summer of 2019. But now? Well, Nick and I own and operate it, something we never saw coming.

We are beyond grateful for the previous chapters of CFC and all its been through, just as we are very thankful to the previous owners for building an amazing community that we fell in love with. And we’re honored to continue its legacy and to continue building upon the community.

Nick and I started coaching at CFC during its second chapter. We weren’t around in its first chapter, but we heard so much about it and have so much respect for the Wilkes family and the legacy they built at CFC. There wouldn’t be a CFC without them!

Its second chapter is what we fell in love with. The people, the coaches, the community, the workouts, the atmosphere. We very quickly felt at home with the CFC Family. And when the opportunity for us to become its owners fell in our lap, we said yes!

And this next chapter is one we are leading. We jumped in feet first, but we had no idea what we were doing. It’s been such a huge learning curve over the past year and a half. There have been ups and downs, as there are with anything, but I don’t think either of us would change any part of it.

We’re excited to continue growing, to build upon what’s already established, and to continue helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. It took a bit to get our feet firmly planted, but we’ve finally established our core values and are using those as our guiding points and litmus test for every decision we make moving forward.

Our core values are Freedom, Family, Faith, Fun.

We embody these core values by inspiring people to do their best and be the happiest, healthiest version of themselves. We accomplish this by educating people on movements, nutrition, and the why behind what we do, as well as training people to expand their capabilities for everyday life, both in and out of the gym.

We know CFC and its workouts are only a small part of people’s daily lives, but we want to ensure what they’re learning in the gym also translates to outside of the gym. Being fit isn’t just about being able to lift the heaviest or be the fastest or strongest. It entails so much more than that and we want to help people in all those aspects.

And as we look ahead to the next five years, we have big plans. A new space, continuous upgrading of equipment and what we offer, providing not only the physical fitness aspect, but the mental, emotional, spiritual and financial fitness aspect, as well. We want to be all-encompassing, to include physical therapy, massage, and self-defense, to name a few. We want to continue creating a place that people will want to come and spend time there and continue creating friendships and relationships that last a lifetime.

So Happy 15 Year Anniversary, CFC! We’ve been blessed with 15 years and we’re looking forward to many more to come!

Have a beautiful week. And we invite you into our journey and family. Contact us today to set up a free consultation and see if CFC is your new gym home.
