How healthy are you?

And I don’t just mean your physical health.

Health encompasses so much more than just your physical health. You can eat healthy (for you), exercise, get plenty of sleep, drink all the water, and still be unhealthy.

Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually. Financially. With your job. Your hobbies. Your free time. How healthy are you in all these areas?

They all bleed and feed into one another so you’re only as healthy as all of them together. If you’re off in one area, it can have adverse effects in all other areas of your life.

This happened recently to Nick and I. We did a major review of our lives and realized we were doing all the things to keep our bodies physically healthy, but mentally, emotionally, and financially, we were unhealthy. Which ultimately means we were unhappy.

We were beyond stressed financially, which meant everything else was affected. I wasn’t sleeping well. It was a constant worry wondering about his next paycheck and how it would look for us and our bills. We got into arguments about what we should (or shouldn’t) do.

It was awful. And we knew we needed a change. We couldn’t keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

We made some big changes to jumpstart us and get us back on track. We sold our 2020 Ram truck back to the dealer. Goodbye hefty car payment and a super expensive (albeit insanely fancy) truck. We took our time finding our next vehicle, and made quick work of paying it off… 3 months to the day from buying it.

We sold our house and started living the tiny house life… in a camper.

We create and stick to a monthly budget.

It hasn’t been the easiest journey, but we know our financial health is improving and will continue to do so as we move forward.

It takes a lot to realize you need to make changes. And the changes we made aren’t for everyone. But I know being stressed over your finances is not a healthy or fun place to be. And I also know having a ton of debt and continuing to pay your hard earned money to someone else is not a fun place to be either.

So, I ask again. How healthy are you? It may be time to reassess.

Let us know if you have any questions on getting and staying healthy, in any sense. We’d love to help!

Have a phenomenal week!
