Do you find yourself hemming and hawing over making a decision? Where you’re sort of a yes, but also sort of a no? And you can’t decide which one wins?

Let me help you out, because I’ve been there many, many times. A simple rule of thumb is – If it’s not a HELL YES, it’s a NO!

It sounds so trite and way too easy to be true, but I’ve found that in any decision I’ve made, if it wasn’t a hell yes, I almost always regretted it later.

If there is any doubt, any back and forth, any wondering or wishy-washiness, it’s a no. If you aren’t excited for it, it’s not something you absolutely 100% want, it’s a no.

Use this as your rule of thumb and I can almost guarantee it will not steer you wrong.

So many times, I’ve reluctantly said yes to things that I wasn’t overly excited about or had gone back and forth over. And 99.9% of the time, I’ve regretted it. Or lost money over it. Or wasted time with it.

So Nick and I have adopted it as our go to policy when it comes to making decisions. He’ll look at me and ask, “Is it a hell yes?” And if his or my answer is no, then our answer is no.

It truly does simplify a lot of decisions. We don’t agonize over things anymore. We don’t spend days wondering what we’re going to do. We pray about it. And we ask ourselves to be honest. And if it isn’t a hell yes, simple – it’s a no.

Give it a try. Especially if there’s something you’ve been debating back and forth over. Let me know how it works for you. I’d love to hear your experience with it.

Have a great week! And only commit to HELL YES’s!
