Alright you guys. I want you to be really honest with yourself. Really, truly honest.

How healthy are you? How healthy do you eat? How many times a week do you move your body (and it doesn’t have to be a full-blown workout every single day)? What are you eating? What are you doing to move your body?

Because as a health coach, as a CrossFit coach, I hear the following phrase ALL. THE. TIME. “I eat healthy most of the time.”

And then I ask them to track what they’re eating, and they’re surprised…EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Because without actually tracking and knowing what you’re eating, you really have no idea. And I promise, the “cheats,” the “I only eat XYZ every now and again,” are way more often than you think.

This was very evident to Nick and I with his mom for years prior to her death. She snuck a lot of food overnight and claimed she ate healthy “most of the time.” And it was never more evident than us cleaning out her medicine cabinet full of medicine and insulin for her Type-2 diabetes. The one that is manageable with diet and exercise.

It was also very evident as we cleaned out the cabinets and freezer full of high sugar treats that she claimed she only ate “some of the time.”

Eating like that all of the time sneaks up on you. You feel like it’s not often, but how do you know if you don’t track it? How do you actually know how much you’re eating?

It’s scary to think about because tomorrow isn’t promised, no matter what we do for our health. But you have control over what you put into your body, how you move your body. With your body being the only place you have to live, why wouldn’t you treat it the best way you can, with love and health and good food?

I truly hope our tragedy helps even one person. Because your body will eventually stop working the way it’s supposed to…it will eventually shut down. Treat it like crap, eat like crap, and it will fall apart. Treat it well, eat well, and it will (generally) be well (yes, I know there are circumstances outside of our control). But seriously…do what you can in your control.

We love you guys. We want you to be your healthiest, happiest YOU. And if you need some help to get there, let us know. We’re here to help!

Have a fantastic week!
