If you never try, you automatically lose all the chances you’ve been given. If you never try, you have no idea what you’re missing. If you never try, you don’t know what you could have accomplished.

I know it isn’t always easy to take risks, to put yourself out there, to take chances, but I also know it’s worth it. It’s worth it to see what you can do, what you can accomplish, what could be.

Think about the chances you’ve taken in your life. What would you have missed if you hadn’t taken those chances? I can think of quite a few for myself.

If I hadn’t put aside my pre-conceived thoughts about CrossFit, I wouldn’t have started and been going strong 10 years later. If I hadn’t started CrossFit, I wouldn’t have started coaching and met Nick. If I hadn’t left the government, I wouldn’t be self-employed and running my own businesses, to include CFC, with Nick, of course.

If I hadn’t put my trust in God and the IVF route, we wouldn’t have our sweet miracle baby, Gabriel. If I hadn’t put my trust in myself, I wouldn’t have accomplished the many PRs at the gym. And while this last one may seem like a small one, it’s probably the biggest one. Because I trusted myself and my abilities, instead of doubting and continuing to wonder what if.

Do you think the guys in the picture could climb ropes the first time they tried? I mean – maybe they could, but I know I couldn’t. And truthfully, I was too afraid to try. But when I allowed myself the belief that I could, it was crazy how easy they became. I was insanely proud the first time I climbed the rope. And then freaked out because I didn’t know how to get down, LOL.

I know I wouldn’t be where I’m at without taking chances. Without putting myself out there and seeing what could happen. Without feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

So what are you putting off due to fear? What chances are you missing? What do you want to accomplish that’s being pushed to the side?

As we head into the end of the year and into the start of another, think of all the things you’ve been putting off. Pick some of them and decide to go for it. Be brave. Take chances. See what you can accomplish. Feel the FEAR and do it anyway!

Don’t keep putting it off because you never know what you’re missing. And the time will pass by whether you do it or not. And as morbid as it sounds, tomorrow isn’t promised. No more regrets. No more missed opportunities.

Have a fantastic week. And take chances. Live your best life.
